Meet Rich! He’s definitely an inspiration to us.
“I started run/walking back in late 2008. A friend of mine had started the C25K program and dared me to try. At roughly 250, I thought I needed to get into better shape. It was slow going.. I cut back on the beer, white starchy and greasy food. Now I didn’t stop it but moderated it (you gotta live!). Looking at runs from 2010 I would do a mile at 12 or 13 minutes a mile. Now at 190 I’m doing a mile between 8:30 and 9 a mile while holding a conversation. This took several years and I changed my life habits. But without the support of a community dedicated to nothing but running and exercise it would have been much more difficult. In those few years I’ve turned a handful of my friends into RK users.”

"The day I realized I was a runner…I went to Starbucks in my race clothes. As I was leaving it occurred to me that I was FINALLY comfortable with accepting that image. Running has become part of who I am, and although I might not have the perfect body, it is one that has trained to run. For the last year I have endured, and it has changed me for the better. I have become…a runner." Read more of Jillian’s story on blog.runkeeper.com

"If we could pick one exercise to recommend to all runners-young or old, beginner to advanced-it would be squats." Check out the full story at Beyond the Miles, http://blog.RunKeeper.com #fitness #squats
